A couple of lingering injuries could mean Dallas has to make an adjustment for their opening night starting lineup.

As opening night looms Thursday for Dallas, their roster is set but the lineup for their first game in Nashville still has a couple of question marks.

The NHL season started yesterday, and every team has submitted their opening night roster of 23 or fewer players. With some injuries lingering, some question marks still remain to see which forwards are on the ice come Thursday night. Jason Robertson was not able to participate in any of the preseason games while recovering from a foot surgery he underwent during the offseason. Meanwhile, Mavrik Bourque and Wyatt Johnston both sustained injuries during training camp.

Bourque is doubtful for Thursday's contest, which could mean Oskar Back would make his NHL debut after making the roster over Arttu Hyry and Kole Lind. Hyry and Lind both cleared waivers and headed to the Texas Stars for now, but could be a featured part of the lineup as needed throughout the season.

Wyatt Johnston and Jason Robertson are both probable to make their season debut without missing any meaningful action.

The finalized roster contains 13 forwards, seven defensemen and two goalies.

Forwards: Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, Wyatt Johnston, Mason Marchment, Matt Duchene, Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn, Sam Steel, Logan Stankoven, Evgenii Dadonov, Colin Blackwell, Mavrik Bourque, Oskar Back

Defensemen: Miro Heiskanen, Matt Dumba, Thomas Harley, Ilya Lyubushkin, Esa Lindell, Nils Lundkvist, Brendan Smith

    Goalies: Jake Oettinger, Casey DeSmith

Per PuckPedia, the Stars have $2.4 million remaining to begin the season. Last season, the Stars dealt with the struggle of being cap-strapped, unable to even have the freedom to call people up due to injuries. This season, the Stars will have wiggle room to handle whatever the long season throws at them.
