Dallas hosts St. Louis at American Airlines Center to ignite a championship pursuit, reigniting a fierce Central Division rivalry following a dominant stretch of head-to-head success.

On Wednesday, the Dallas Stars announced that their 2026-27 regular season will open at home against the St. Louis Blues on Friday, October 2, with puck drop set for 7:00 p.m. CT at American Airlines Center.

The matchup marks the second known date on Dallas' upcoming schedule, following the NHL's earlier confirmation that the Stars will face the defending Western Conference champion Vegas Golden Knights next February 20 in the Navy Federal Credit Union Stadium Series, set to be played outdoors at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, home of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys.

Dallas and St. Louis will get plenty of practice against one another before the regular season even begins. The two Central Division rivals are also scheduled to meet twice during the preseason in a tune-up that will help set the tone for both the season opener and the Stars' other divisional matchups against St. Louis throughout the year.

The October 2 opener will be the first meeting between the two clubs in a season-opening game since 2023, when Dallas edged St. Louis 2-1 in a shootout to kick off that campaign. The Stars have owned the recent history between the two teams, winning seven of their last eight meetings against the Blues, including three straight victories.

Dallas fans have their first real look at how the road to another Stanley Cup push will begin, once the rest of the schedule rolls out later this week.
