The Dallas Stars (20-8-4) have won three consecutive games and look to make it four against the St. Louis Blues (17-15-1).
Before the short Christmas break, the Dallas Stars pulled off one of the most improbable wins in NHL history. The Stars became the first team in NHL regular season history to score a game-tying and game-winning goal in the final 15 seconds of regulation.
Thanks to goals from Craig Smith and Jani Hakanpaa, the Stars avoided a loss and going to overtime with a division rival.
The St. Louis Blues are another division rival and come into this game on a two-game win streak, sitting sixth in the central division and one point back of the Arizona Coyotes for the top wild-card spot.
This is the third meeting between the Stars and the Blues, with each team winning a game. The first matchup ended with the Stars beating the Blues in shootout but the second matchup ended with the Blues coming out on top in overtime.
The Stars come into this game tied on points with the Colorado Avalanche but have two games in hand over them and one point ahead of the Winnipeg Jets.
Stars projected lines:
Robertson-Hintz-Pavelski
Marchment-Duchene-Seguin
Benn-Johnston-Dadonov
Steel-Faksa-Smith
Suter-Heiskanen
Lindell-Hakanpaa
Harley-Hanley
Wedgewood
Murray
Puck drop is at 7 p.m. CST and can be seen on Bally Sports Southwest or NHL Network.
