Stars fans will never forget Joel Kiviranta's legendary Game 7 hat trick against the Colorado Avalanche in the 2020 COVID bubble playoff run.

For Avs fans, though, the memory will have to continue to be put aside, as Colorado has re-signed Kiviranta to another year with the club.
Fresh off a season where he appeared in 79 regular season games and all seven playoff games against the Stars, Kiviranta gets one more year with the Avalanche. He posted a career-high 16 goals last season but only recorded seven assists. His shooting percentage was at an astronomically high 19 percent, as well, meaning that a regression from that 16-goal pace could be in the cards for the Finnish winger.
Dallas signed Kiviranta as an undrafted free agent to add to a long list of Finns who have played for the team over the past several years. After his tenure with the Stars, Kiviranta signed with Colorado, where he has now played 135 games.
