Stars Leaning On Elite Goaltending Amid Injury Challenges in Final Stretch

The Dallas Stars have dropped three of their last four games as they head into the final stretch of the season, dealing with a growing list of injuries.

Recently acquired Tyler Myers joins Mikko Rantanen, Roope Hintz, Radek Faksa, and Adam Erne on the sidelines. While most players are expected to return near the end of the season, the team must hold steady in the meantime.

Dallas has relied heavily on its goaltending over the last three games, with Jake Oettinger and Casey DeSmith keeping the Stars competitive. The duo has stopped 89 of 95 shots over that span for a combined .936 save percentage.

Oettinger has been particularly outstanding, remaining undefeated in regulation in his last 14 starts, going 12-0-2 with a 2.30 goals against average and a .905 save percentage during that stretch. DeSmith, after two consecutive losses, had previously won four straight starts while allowing just seven goals.

As the Stars inch closer to a fully healthy lineup, their goaltending tandem will remain critical. With Oettinger leading the way, the team has a reliable presence between the pipes reminiscent of Stars legends Marty Turco and Ed Belfour, giving Dallas confidence that they can withstand the current injury challenges and finish the season strong.
