The Detroit Red Wings have reportedly made a trade offer for Tyler Myers of the Vancouver Canucks, according to NHL insiders Darren Dreger and Chris Johnston. Myers sat out Vancouver’s first game back from the Olympic break while trade discussions continue.
At 36 years old and standing 6-foot-8, Myers brings size, experience, and defensive reliability, often contributing 20–30 points per season. His contract carries a $3 million cap hit through next season, giving Detroit flexibility if the fit isn’t perfect.
Red Wings fans — what do you think?
Would Myers be a strong addition for Detroit down the stretch? Does his size and veteran presence outweigh this season’s minus-25 rating? Or should GM Steve Yzerman look elsewhere for defensive help?
