We begin with an impromptu discussion of the second best team in the Eastern Conference behind the Florida Panthers, with the underlying idea being that the East's secondary tier of contenders are all flawed at some level, perhaps opening the door to a more prolonged playoff run for Detroit.
From there, we segue into debriefing Florida's 4-0 win at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday, discussing how the Panthers' depth and aggressive style put the Red Wings into discomfort and the lessons Detroit ought to take away from a disappointing result but decent performance. We then move into a discussion of Dylan Larkin's injury and how his absence shapes the Red Wings' playoff push and outlook toward the trade deadline. We discussed the road ahead for Detroit, what the Red Wings need from J.T. Compher and Joe Veleno, and whether Detroit can handle this injury better than it did Larkin's December injury.
