Line Combinations: Red Wings at Flames
Oct 24, 2026 4:18 PM

Two surging clubs clash as Detroit puts an eight-game series win streak on the line against a battle-tested Calgary squad hungry to prove its early-season turnaround is real.

On Saturday, the Detroit Red Wings will try to extend their recent run of success when they travel to face a Calgary Flames team that has been just as hot.

Both clubs have won three of their last four games, a welcome turnaround after rough openings to the season when Calgary lost its first five games, while Detroit dropped five of its first six.

Now both teams are looking to turn that momentum into lasting progress as the Red Wings' wins have come against opponents they were expected to beat, including a winless Philadelphia Flyers team and non-playoff squads like the San Jose Sharks and Vancouver Canucks.

The Flames, by comparison, have beaten tougher competition, including the defending Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes and current contenders like the Minnesota Wild and Anaheim Ducks.
