Fedorov’s jersey retirement takes center stage as two powerhouse teams clash. Witness a thrilling goaltending duel and Red Wings' evolving lineups.

The Detroit Red Wings return home on Monday for a night fans have been eagerly awaiting as the franchise will finally retire the signature No. 91 of Sergei Fedorov. The former legend makes his long-awaited return to Hockeytown, a moment that mends old relationships and celebrates a once-strained connection now fully restored.

Adding an ironic twist, the ceremony comes against the team Fedorov famously signed his offer sheet with in 1998, the Carolina Hurricanes. The matchup promises to be a marquee clash between two Eastern Conference powerhouses. The Hurricanes enter Monday with a 28-14-3 record and four straight wins, while the Red Wings lead the Atlantic Division at 27-15-4, fueled by a 13-4-1 run over their last 18 games.

The goaltending duel will also draw attention, pitting Carolina’s Frederik Andersen, who has struggled this season, against Detroit’s Cam Talbot.
