With the Detroit Red Wings beginning a pivotal three-game road swing Tuesday night in Montreal, they have recalled forward Austin Watson from Grand Rapids to join them for the trip.

On Monday afternoon, coach Todd McLellan confirmed that every Red Wing who played in Sunday's win over the Florida Panthers is healthy and should be available tonight against the Canadiens.  However, that does leave Detroit with exactly 12 healthy forwards, so calling up Watson as an insurance policy is a logical decision should the Wings lose another forward to injury out on the road.

Watson has now featured in eight games for the Red Wings this season, scoring two goals and racking up 17 minutes in penalties.  He's averaged just 6:10 in ice time in those eight games, so even if he does find his way into the lineup, don't expect to see too much of him.

After Tuesday night's game in Montreal, Detroit will play a Thursday-Friday back-to-back against the Panthers in Sunrise then the Lightning in Tampa Bay.
