The Detroit Red Wings' roster has changed drastically over the years. Looking back at the 2019-20 roster, just one player — captain Dylan Larkin — remains with the team. This type of turnover is just a fact of life in the NHL, where business needs cause teams to move many players and other assets.

Below is a list of all the former Red Wings players, draft picks and other acquisitions who made it onto opening night rosters. This list includes injured and non-roster players, who have a chance to be sent down later. All data is pulled from the official rosters provided by NHL Public Relations.
