With several sources now confirming, Vladimir Tarasenko's father Andrei has passed away at the age of 56
According to multiple sources, the father of newly signed Red Wings forward Vladmir Tarasenko, Andrei, has passed away at the age of 56.
HC Sibir Novosibirsk, the club for whom Andrei worked as a development coach, initially reported the news, noting that his passing was sudden. George Malik of The Malik Report has independently corroborated the information.
Andrei played for the club in the 2000s, and for his efforts, HC Sibir retired his number 10 jersey (the same number Vladimir wore in Florida last season as he hoisted his second Stanley Cup). The Hockey News of course extends its condolences to Vladimir and the rest of the Tarasenko family during this painful time.
