    Red Wings' AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins, release their 2025-26 regular season schedule. 

    As Detroit Red Wings fans await the schedule for next season, the organization gave out a couple games at the AHL level that fans can get excited about. 

    On Thursday, the Grand Rapids Griffins unveiled their full 2025-26 regular season schedule, marking a milestone 30th season for the franchise and its 25th in the American Hockey League. It will also be the team’s 24th season as the primary affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings.

    Led by head coach Dan Watson in his third season, the Griffins will begin their 72-game campaign on the road against the Texas Stars, who are coming off a Western Conference Finals loss, on Friday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. EDT. The Griffins will host their home opener at Van Andel Arena on Friday, Oct. 17 against the Winnipeg Jets AHL affiliate in the Manitoba Moose. 

    Among the highlighted games is the return of the Charlotte Checkers to the schedule for the first time since 2016-17 and a renewed matchup with the Toronto Marlies after a one-year absence.

    Key dates on the calendar include the home opener versus Manitoba as well as the New Year's Eve game versus the Milwaukee Admirals. Fan Appreciation Night will take place April 11th versus Rockford IceHogs and the always memorable School Day Game will be an early 11 A.M. start on November 12th, featuring rivalry game versus the Toronto Marlies. 

    The schedule includes 14 Friday home games, two season-high four-game homestands in February, a five-game road trip in March, and 16 back-to-backs. Grand Rapids will wrap up the regular season at Cleveland Monsters on April 19th.
