The latest episode of THN Detroit's hit podcast The Silky Mitten State

The latest episode of The Silky Mitten State is live!

On this week's show, my co-host Connor Earegood and I get started by breaking down the days two big trades: Pierre-Luc Dubois to the Capitals and Jacob Markstrom to the Devils.  We discuss both deals and assess the ramifications for New Jersey and Washington with respect to the Red Wings' chase for the 2025 postseason.

From there, we break down the latest in the Stanley Cup Final, considering Connor McDavid's spectacular postseason and Conn Smythe prospects, the Oilers' unusual path back into the fight by getting even more vertical and aggressive in transition, and Matthew Tkachuk's remarkable effort in Game Five.

After that, we discuss Filip Hronek's massive eight year extension in Vancouver, arguing that his fit with the Canucks doesn't need to cause any sort of revisionist history with respect to trading him out of Detroit.  From there, we touch on Barclay Goodrow heading back to San Jose, before pivoting to a discussion of Red Wings draft history, leaning on Connor's 'Best of" series from this week.
