It’s the matchup that the hockey world wanted to see, and Detroit Red Wings team captain Dylan Larkin helped make it possible.
Larkin, playing in his debut Olympics, scored his second goal in as many games for the United States and helped them defeat Slovakia by a 6-2 final score.
This sets up a clash against Canada for the coveted gold medal, which will take place on Sunday.
It was Larkin who opened the scoring just under five minutes into the contest, followed by a power-play goal from Tage Thompson.
The United States then got two goals from Jack Hughes along with a tally from Jack Eichel.
Brady Tkachuk added a goal in the third period, while Slovakia tallied twice.
