Following his sixth career hat trick as part of their 4-1 win, the Detroit Red Wings are loving what Viktor Arvidsson has brought to their lineup.

The Detroit Red Wings picked up a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday evening in what marked the return of Patrick Kane to Little Caesars Arena for the first time since he decided to rejoin his original club over the summer.

And during the contest, it was a forward that's effectively replaced Kane in the Detroit lineup that took center stage.

Viktor Arvidsson netted his sixth career hat trick in the victory, overtaking teammate Alex DeBrincat to lead the team with eight goals. He also added an assist for good measure.

For teammate Moritz Seider, it's not a surprise to see him fit in so well.

"Honestly, not a big surprise. He knows the system very well, he played under Todd and he knows what's up. So, it's pretty easy for him to fit in. He has a great ability around the net, finding the right spots all the time."

Seider then described Arvidsson's playing style in a particularly endearing way.

"He's a little squirrely," Seider said. "He goes to the dirty areas and isn't afraid to put his body on the line. He deserved the hat trick like that."

Having already played under head coach Todd McLellan while with the Los Angeles Kings,

"Arvy's a hell of a hockey player, but what he brings to the table, night in and night out, is the competitiveness," McLellan said. "His engine doesn't stop. When he's not scoring, he's hunting.

"Arvy's very competitive; he's come back into a system, I think, that's good for him," McLellan continued. "He understands it. He's been a big proponent of it and a salesman in the locker room, and it's certainly helped us. So, we're grateful for having him."

The Red Wings will now prepare to face the St. Louis Blues on Saturday afternoon.
