The Detroit Red Wings announced on Monday that Michal Postava will get his first NHL start against the Edmonton Oilers.
The Detroit Red Wings wrap up their four-game road trip on Monday evening with a clash against the Edmonton Oilers, and it will be a milestone night for goaltender Michal Postava.
Postava, whom the Red Wings recently called up from the AHL affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins because of an injury to Daniil Tarasov, will get his first career NHL start at Rogers Place, as announced by head coach Todd McLellan.

Before being called up, Postava continued to build on what was a stellar first year in North America in 2025-26, going 4-0 with a strong 1.25 goals-against average and a .954 save percentage.
Last season, Postava, who had been signed as an undrafted free agent, took hold of the starters reins from now-former Red Wings prospect goaltender Sebastian Cossa, finishing with a 17-6 record.
He also was the starter for Grand Rapids in the Calder Cup Playoffs, posting a 4-4 record with a 2.09 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage.
