On Monday at Ostrava Arena in Ostrava, Czechia, Red Wings forward Lucas Raymond helped guide Sweden to a 3-1 group stage win over France by doing exactly what he'd done all second half in Detroit: scoring.

Raymond took a pass from Andre Burakovsky cutting in off the right wing, then toe-dragged into the slot before rifling home a perfectly placed shot to open the scoring midway through the second period.  Raymond returned the favor to Burakovsky and assisted on the Kraken winger's third period goal.

Sweden has now won all six of its group stage games so far, with only a date tomorrow with Slovakia separating the "Tre Kronor" from a perfect pool play record.  Raymond has been instrumental to that success with three goals and two assists.

The Swedes have won four World Championship gold medals in the 21st century, first in 2006 (the same year they collected Olympic gold in Torino), then in 2013, 2017, and 2018.

The 3-1 win over France is not exactly an overwhelming result, considering that the French are hardly a threat to collect a medal, but a win is a win, and now, Raymond and Sweden are on the brink of a perfect run into the knockout rounds, with ambitions of brining home another gold medal.
