As Dylan Larkin expands his trade list, Detroit eyes a roster reset by demanding elite young pivots and top-tier prospects in exchange for their franchise cornerstones.

On Thursday, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman addressed the situation surrounding Detroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin on his podcast, 32 Thoughts, following the news that Larkin has expanded his list of preferred trade destinations to ten teams.

Friedman began by saying that "Larkin is definitely trying to make this possible" when it comes to a trade out of Detroit. He also explained that the Red Wings have been largely disappointed with the offers they have received for Larkin and defenseman Simon Edvinsson.

Friedman also revealed another layer of what Detroit is seeking on the trade market. Interim general manager Shawn Horcoff has reportedly been asking teams about young centers.

"The one thing I think they are doing is they're starting to ask about young centers, and maybe even some guys who are top prospects that aren't in the NHL yet," Friedman said.

"Whether it's a Larkin trade or an Edvinsson trade, if it does come to it, that's kind of what they're targeting."

The report lines up with recent comments from Seravalli, who said the Minnesota Wild have offered 22-year-old Danila Yurov, the 24th overall pick in 2022, in a potential package. Seravalli noted that the two clubs disagree on Yurov's potential, with the Red Wings reportedly doubting that he is a strong enough centerpiece for a Larkin deal.

With Larkin's list now at ten teams, Detroit's demands becoming more general, and Larkin showing flexibility to help get a deal done, the 30-year-old Michigan native may be closer than ever to being moved.
