No team is immune to the injury bug, including the Detroit Red Wings. It's rare for a team to go through an entire season without missing at least one player for an extended period of time.

Thursday night's game against the Edmonton Oilers is the first of a four-game West Coast road trip. The trip includes them playing games against the Calgary Flames, Vancouver Canucks, and the Seattle Kraken.

Head coach Todd McLellan updated the team at practice on Wednesday regarding some players' availability for the road trip.

Vladimir Tarasenko, Patrick Kane, & J.T. Compher

Vladimir Tarasenko, Patrick Kane, and J.T Compher are all making the road trip. McLellan had this to say about Tarasenko.

"He looked good, he worked hard," McLellan revealed. "He looked like he had energy so I'm sure he'll be ready."

As per McLellan, Kane will not be ready for Thursday's game against the Oilers, but will be on the road trip. It also appears that Compher should be ready to go against the Oilers.

Of course, the tricky thing with illness and injury is that things change on a dime. Red Wings fans should keep their eyes open on warm-up to see who will be playing in tonight's game.

Injuries happen to every team and the Red Wings need to be ready for the Oilers regardless of who is in the lineup.
