Detroit Red Wings Dylan Larkin and Patrick Kane among the 44 named players attending Team USA's Olympic Orientation Camp in Plymouth, Michigan.

USA Hockey announced a list of 44 players that will attend the U.S. Men's Olympic Orientation Camp from August 26-27 in Plymouth, Michigan.

As Team USA builds toward the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin was a name that almost everyone expected to be on the list. The Waterford, Michigan native  emerged as a driving force for Team USA during the recent Four Nations Face-Off. The Americans came up short, finishing second place, but his impact was felt as a swiss army knife-type of player. After playing power play, penalty kill and even minutes in the team's top six, there was no question on if he would be named to Team USA's Olympic Orientation Camp Roster.

One name that some didn't expect is Red Wings veteran Patrick Kane, who wasn't on Team USA's roster for the Four Nations Face-Off but could be brought in as a veteran presence for the camp. The two-time Olympian has been an impact player on the global stage before, scoring three goals and two assists in six games at 21 years old en route to a silver medal during the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games.

He added to his international numbers with four assists at the 2014 Sochi Winter Games despite narrowly missing bronze.  Kane also captained Team USA at the 2018 IIHF World Championships, tallying a tournament-best 20 points (8 goals, 12 assists) and become the first U.S. player to earn MVP honors at the tournament.

Larkin was originally slotted into the fourth line during Four Nations but over time turned what was supposed to be a small role into a contributor up-and-down the lineup. His numbers weren't the most telling as he recorded just a goal and an assist through four games but his +3 rating showcased his talents as a defensive centre that was able to help shut down some of the best forwards in the world.

An example of this was when he scored go-ahead goal in Team USA's 3-1 statement win over the Canadians. He would followed up the goal by assisting on the third goal scored by Jake Guentzel. This was one of the many occasions where Larkin was proud to represent his country.

He's played 45 games at the IIHF World Championships across five different tournament appearances. On the global stage, Larkin posted ten goals and 24 assists for 34 points and a +15 rating.

The two will be in the attendance with some of the most notable players in the NHL like Auston Matthews, Jack Eichel, Jaccob Slavin as well as the Hughes and Tkatchuk brothers. Among the star-studded group is some notable Michigan-born players like Kyle Connor, Bryan Rust, Zach Werenski, Frank Nazar as well as former Michigan Wolverine Quinn Hughes.
