Everything you need to know ahead of the Red Wings' pre-season finale tonight in Toronto
Tonight, the Detroit Red Wings' eight-game pre-season gauntlet will wrap up in Toronto for a game against the Maple Leafs. Here's everything you need to know ahead of tonight's game
-As this is the Red Wings' third game in as many nights, Detroit took a relatively relaxed approach to the morning skate. With only 11 forwards out on the ice, the team did not even bother with the traditional morning line rushes.
The actual lineup for this evening features two players who did not skate this morning (Carter Mazur and Albert Johansson, both of whom played last night against the Senators). Meanwhile, Tory Dello did take the skate but will not play this evening. Per Derek Lalonde, Ville Husso will get the nod for a full 60 minutes in net.
-The Maple Leafs squad Detroit will face is a much closer approximation to their opening lineup than the one that visited Little Caesars Arena on Thursday night. It features the "Core Four" forwards in Auston Matthews, William Nylander, Mitch Marner, and John Tavares (none of whom visited the Red Wings), along with a blue line featuring stalwart Morgan Rielly and the off-season's big addition in Chris Tanev. Joseph Woll is expected to play the full game in net.
Tonight's game will not be available on traditional television. Instead, it will be streaming on the Red Wings' website and mobile app.
