The Detroit Red Wings hope to avenge their 6-3 loss to the Kraken in Tuesday's rematch in the Pacific Northwest.
After playing seven of their first eight home games of the 2026-27 NHL campaign, the Detroit Red Wings have hit the road for their next four outings.
They'll start their road trip with a rematch against the Seattle Kraken on Monday evening, and will hope to exact some revenge for their 6-3 defeat at Little Caesars Arena earlier in the month.
The Red Wings vastly outplayed the Kraken in the first period of their contest, enjoying a decided shots advantage. After an early second-period goal from William Wallinder, things fell apart for Detroit, who allowed three goals in a span of 3:05.
“I thought we played - that was the game we played a really solid 45 minutes, but a horrible 15 minutes in the middle of the game,” said forward Andrew Copp. “I think we just have to stick with that plan. I thought we had a really good first (period)...we just have to find that blend where we're moving our feet and checking well, and playing direct.
“It’s not a real secret recipe, it’s just, can we do it night in and night out?”

Red Wings head coach Todd McLellan was adamant about the team's need to win “scrappy” hockey games following their 4-3 shootout victory over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday evening, a message that first-year Red Wings forward Viktor Arvidsson echoed.
"I think we're good when we have volume shooting and being good on the forecheck, keeping pucks alive after the initial shot," he said. "I think we can do a little bit better job of getting those second opportunities in front of the net and bury those kind of chances."
Arvidsson also referenced the unwanted result against the Kraken earlier in the month, noting that it was the one game that's gotten away from them this season in what has otherwise been a heavily competitive output for the club.
"I think we've been in every game, we've been close in every game - I think that Seattle game got away from us," he said. "We just have to keep trying."
The Red Wings will face-off against the Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena on Tuesday starting at 9:40 p.m. ET.
