With Dylan Larkin sidelined and John Gibson returning to the crease, Detroit pivots to AHL standout Sheldon Dries to spark the offense against rival Chicago.

On Thursday, the Detroit Red Wings announced several roster moves, headlined by the news that center Dylan Larkin is expected to remain out of the lineup until a trade involving the 30-year-old materializes.

The team also reassigned goaltender Michal Postava to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL despite his impressive NHL debut, where he stopped 24 of 27 shots in a win over the red hot Edmonton Oilers.

With John Gibson expected to return to action Thursday against the Chicago Blackhawks, the veteran netminder is set to make his first start since last Saturday. It's been a slow start for the 33-year-old, who has so far maintained a 3-4-1 record with a 3.44 goals against average and a .867 save percentage while playing in the final year of his current deal.

Meanwhile, the Red Wings recalled forward Sheldon Dries from Grand Rapids to slot into the fourth line. The 32-year-old has appeared in six games with Detroit this season, recording no points and a minus-three rating. However, Dries has been highly productive at the AHL level, tallying five goals and three assists for eight points in just four games.

He will look to carry that offensive momentum into his return to the NHL lineup and provide a scoring boost for Detroit. The Red Wings will aim to keep things rolling Thursday night against Chicago, having won six of their last seven meetings with the Blackhawks.
