The Detroit Red Wings organization has signed depth goaltender Jonathan Lemieux, who played last season in West Michigan with the ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings.
The Detroit Red Wings have already made a pair of goaltending transactions so far this offseason, trading away former first-round selection Sebastian Cossa to the Utah Mammoth in return for the 23rd overall selection in 2026.
Additionally, they signed former Florida Panthers goaltender Daniil Tarasov, who is expected to back up John Gibson, to a one-year deal; Cam Talbot is not expected to return.
Now, the Red Wings are bringing another new face into the organization who is expected to compete for playing time with the American Hockey League affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins alongside Trey Augustine and Michal Postava.
The Griffins have signed Jonathan Lemieux to a one-year, two-way contract for the upcoming campaign.

A Quebec native, Lemieux played last season as a member of the ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings, posting a 11-9-4 record with a 2.95 goals-against and a .906 save percentage over 26 games.
He also played two games for the Abbotsford Canucks, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, posting a 2.82 goals-against average with a .902 save percentage.
Since turning professional, he's suited up in 105 ECHL games and has accumulated a 42-44-11 record while a 2.96 goals-against average, a .907 save percentage, and four shutouts.
Before that, he emerged as a standout at Concordia, winning OUA East Goaltender and Rookie of the Year honors in 2022-23 after posting a 16-4 record.
Lemieux also recorded 78 victories over six QMJHL seasons, earning Second All-Star Team honors in 2020-21 following a strong postseason run that helped Val-d’Or reach the league final; he also played with the Saint John Sea Dogs and the Moncton Wildcats.
