Red Wings fans can put off the thought of Jason Robertson, a three-time 40+ goal scorer and a Michigan native, returning to Michigan for now.
It seemed as though Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson, a Michigan native who has scored at least 40 goals three times, would be the perfect return in a trade package for Dylan Larkin, who requested a trade from the Detroit Red Wings.
However, Robertson, who was a restricted free agent, has re-upped with his current club. The Stars announced on Tuesday evening that Robertson signed a one-year, $12 million contract to remain in Dallas for another season, and he'll be eligible to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

While Robertson will be playing another season with the Stars, the Red Wings remain with more questions than answers.
Not only has the Larkin situation not been resolved with no apparent end in sight, but the Red Wings are currently without a general manager after last week's explosive news that Steve Yzerman had stepped down from his role following a seventh straight year without the playoffs.
