An update on Patrick Kane's status after he played just two shifts Sunday night in Toronto

How hard will it be for Patrick Kane to come back from hip re-surfacing?

There was one obvious blemish to the Detroit Red Wings' stirring come-from-behind victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs last night: an early first period injury to Patrick Kane.

Kane left the game after just his second shift, following two awkward collisions with Pontus Holmberg.  He did not return.

Because Kane arrived in Detroit after hip resurfacing surgery, it is hard not to be concerned about lower body injury the 35-year-old winger sustains, but fortunately for Red Wings fans, it sounds as though this most recent knock is not related to his ip.

After the game, coach Derek Lalonde did not have an update on the timetable for Kane's return, but he did say, "I don't think it's related to his hip, but I don't have all the information on it yet."
