Detroit’s star trio secures elite status in EA Sports’ latest release, fueling anticipation for upcoming defensive rankings and a potential team-high rating for Moritz Seider.

On Tuesday, EA Sports started to give out more information on their upcoming release and newest addition to the NHL video game series with NHL 27 and the biggest tidbit of news was the released ratings for each player.

This particularly surprised fans of the Detroit Red Wings and where they saw some of their best forwards listed. The defense and goaltender ratings have not yet been released but will likely be released in the coming days.

Detroit's leading top line center in Dylan Larkin did not crack the top ten at the position when it came to the ratings but he did find himself in elite company. Sitting at an 89 overall, EA has Larkin tied with other standout centers around the NHL like Tage Thompson, Nick Schmaltz and Evgeni Malkin, all listed at 89 overall.

Also listed at 89 but finding themselves much higher at their position was Lucas Raymond, who also was listed with an identical 89 overall that had him listed in the top ten at right wing and is tied with fellow Detroit teammate Alex DeBrincat as well as Adrian Kempe, Kirill Marchenko and reigning Stanley Cup Champion Seth Jarvis.

The trio of Detroit standouts at forward all sit with an 89 overall rating and likely means that defenseman Moritz Seider will garner the top rating on the team in NHL 27.

Also likely to get strong ratings when the rest of the ratings are to be released will be goaltender John Gibson after a strong season as well as rookie breakout Emmitt Finnie, who will likely see a decent rating following a solid 30-point rookie campaign.
