Red Wings prospect Brent Solomon is lighting up the USHL with impressive offensive numbers. His steady rise offers an early glimpse into Detroit's future talent pool.

With the Detroit Red Wings on pause for the Olympic break and set to return to action midway through next week, fans have shifted their attention to the organization’s pipeline.

The Grand Rapids Griffins continue AHL play, while several junior leagues remain active, offering a glimpse into the future of the franchise.

One name quietly gaining momentum is recent draft pick Brent Solomon. Selected in the fourth round of the 2025 NHL Draft, the 19-year-old right winger has been a standout in the USHL this season.

Solomon has recorded 16 goals and 21 assists for 37 points in 40 games, putting him on pace for 51 points by year’s end. His offensive growth has been one of the more under-the-radar developments in Detroit’s prospect system.

At six feet tall and 172 pounds, Solomon has relied on speed, skill and hockey sense to produce consistently. His ability to create space and generate scoring chances has taken a noticeable step forward this year, and how he finishes the season will be closely watched by the Red Wings’ development staff.

Detroit has not yet signed Solomon to an entry-level contract, and that timeline remains distant. He is committed to joining the Wisconsin Badgers men's ice hockey for the 2026-27 season and beyond, meaning the organization will take a patient approach as he continues to mature.

The move to the NCAA will present a new challenge. Solomon will face older, stronger competition and will likely need to add muscle to withstand the physical grind at the collegiate level. Adding weight and strength over the next two seasons will be key as he prepares for that jump.

For now, Solomon’s steady rise in the USHL is an encouraging sign for a Red Wings system that continues to prioritize long-term development. His journey remains in its early stages, but the progress he has made this season suggests there is plenty of upside still to unlock.
