Connor Murphy put the Edmonton Oilers up 2-1 in the first period of Tuesday's game by putting a floater on the net, and it somehow snuck in past Nedeljkovic. 

It was Murphy's first goal as an Oiler. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jack Roslovic got the assists. It was Nuge's second point in the game. 

Vasily Podkolzin scored a couple of minutes later, putting the Oilers up 3-1. Podkolzin remains hot. 

This has been a solid start for the Oilers, given that they are playing without Leon Draisaitl.
