Down 1-0 in the second period, Team Canada got a two-man advantage and didn't capitalize on it.

Canada squandered a critical 5-on-3 power play early in the second period. Despite generating pressure and high-quality chances, including from Connor McDavid, Connor Hellebuyck stopped everything. His best save came on a one-timer from Macklin Celebrini.

Fans reacted with frustration on social media, calling it a “wasted opportunity” and a potential game-changing moment. The miss shifted momentum to the Americans and left Canada chasing.

Team Canada's faceoff issues have been a problem in this tournament and the power play looked like a group that didn't have much chemistry.
