Former Oilers Goaltender Set To Sign With the Blue Jackets

TSN's Pierre LeBrun is reporting that former Edmonton Oilers netminder Cam Talbot is set to sign a one-year contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Likely a response to the Elvis Merzlikins' injury, Talbot, 39, is getting $950K. 

Talbot went 12-9-6 with a 3.19 GAA and .883 SV% across 34 games with Detroit last season. There was some loose talk that maybe the Oilers might look at him on a PTO, but there wasn't much substance to that speculation. 

He's been a good goaltender, but the extra workload on a poor Detroit team meant his numbers took a hit.
