Laurent Brossoit is one win away from being crowned a Stanley Cup Champion

Laurent Brossoit and the Vegas Golden Knights are one win away from being awarded the Stanley Cup. Brossoit hasn't played since Game 3 against the Edmonton Oilers on May 8th.

The former Oilers' goalie was playing some of the best hockey in his career before this injury shut him down. Since then Adin Hill has stepped up and been the starter for the Golden Knights.

Golden Knights Winning No Matter Who's In Net

In the 2022-23 regular season the Golden Knights finished first in the Pacific Division. They achieved that despite the plethora of injuries to their netminders this year. Five different goalies suited up for the team this year.

Logan Thompson played the most out of the five with 37 games played. Thompson had 21 wins to go along with a 2.65 goals against average (GAA) and a .915 save percentage (SV%). The next highest in games played is Hill with 27. He earned 16 wins, a 2.50 GAA and a .914 SV% in those regular season contests.

Brossoit only played in 11 games this season after playing 24 last year. He didn't lose in regulation at all during the regular season. He suffered one overtime loss and two shootout losses. He had a 2.17 GAA and a .927 SV% in those contests. All of his games were played from the end of February till season's end in April.

Before his injury he was the defacto starter for the Golden Knights in the playoffs. He led them to defeat his other former team, the Winnipeg Jets, in five games. His 3.18 GAA and .894 SV% aren't impressive, but he still won five of the eight games he played.

It's been five years since Brossoit departed from the Oilers organization. Even though he's with a different team, you still cheer for him because of the hard road he's faced to get to where he is now. For Brossoit's sake, I hope the Golden Knights win the cup.
