The Edmonton Oilers kick off a six-game road trip against the New York Islanders tonight. They begin the stretch five points behind the Arizona Coyotes for the final Wild Card position in the Western Conference.

The Islanders sit in this place in the Metropolitan Division, behind the Philadelphia Flyers and the New York Rangers. They are 6-2-2 in their last ten. The Oilers are 8-2 over the same stretch.
One player to keep an eye on from the Islanders is Noah Dobson. Yesterday he was named the third star of last week. He collected eight assists in four games. Dobson has 32 points in 30 games this season.
The Oilers need to get back to their game tonight. They have lost their last two, but deserved to win one of those games. If they can get back to the form they had against the Tampa Bay Lightning then they'll be in great shape.

There's a good chance they go up against Ilya Sorokin again tonight. They managed to get four past Vasilevskiy and that shouldn't be a problem for them with Sorokin. The key will be to generate a lot of traffic around the net to make it difficult for him to anticipate the shots.
Kris Knoblauch's first game behind the bench was against the Islanders. They won that contest 4-1 at home. They will need to play their solid defensive game and capitalize on every chance to defeat the Islanders.
The game starts at 5:30 PM Mountain Time.
