The Edmonton Oilers are coming off of a five day break. Two of those days were true days off - the other three were practice days.
Ryan McLeod. It seems like the long time in-between games worked wonders for the team. The Oilers got off to an incredibly quick start.
Ryan McLeod scored his second goal in as many games, merely 28 seconds into the opening period. That wasn't enough for the Oilers however.
A short 13 seconds later Mattias Ekholm shovelled in a goal from a spectacular Connor McDavid pass.
Those two goals being scored in the opening 41 seconds is now the second fastest in Oilers history.
The Oilers would add insult injury by chasing Pyotr Kochetkov from the net with an incredible individual effort from Zach Hyman.
After that goal, Kochetkov was replaced with Antti Raanta. The Oilers would eventually score another goal on him - Hyman's second of the game.
