The Edmonton Oilers made a huge statement with their 5-2 win against the Calgary Flames.

Edmonton Oilers will see Mattias Ekholm return to the lineup. Expected to be paired with Evan Bouchard.

The Edmonton Oilers beat the Calgary Flames by a score of 5-2. Those two points were incredibly important. But as Oilers head coach Jay Woodcroft said in his post game presser, "how we played tonight was more important."

He went on to say that they played like a team that has "won five playoff rounds in the last two years". They played as close to a 60-minute effort as they could have tonight.

Leon Draisaitl was one of three Oilers to record a multi-point game. He also played the most out of any Oiler with 24:55 of ice time.

Evander Kane came alive with a goal and two assists. He was all over the ice tonight with six shots, six hits and four penalty minutes. Woodcroft called his game "quintessential Evander Kane."

Connor McDavid looked like himself tonight - creating chances all night long. He finished the game with one assist to his credit.

Stuart Skinner continued his great play from the New York Rangers game on Thursday - and was rewarded with his first win of the year. He posted 24 saves on 26 shots. 

The Oilers play again on Thursday against the Dallas Stars.
