Edmonton Oilers forward Adam Henrique goes way back with Pete DeBoer.

EDMONTON -- Adam Henrique had a triumphant return to the lineup.

Despite the Edmonton Oilers losing to the Dallas Stars by a 5-3 final score - Henrique made his presence known. Last night he scored the 3-3 game tying goal, putting life back into the Oilers before heading into the second intermission.
On the night Henrique had the one goal (on one shot) as well as three hits in 13:41 of ice time. This is about the volume of work I expected him to get after missing so much time.

One interesting wrinkle in last night's story - is some of the history behind Henrique's relationship to Pete DeBoer. The last time that Henrique scored a goal in the Conference finals was back in 2012.
It was Henrique's rookie season with the New Jersey Devils - who were coached by the aforementioned DeBoer. It was DeBoer's fourth season as an NHL head coach, first with the Devils.

Last night was the first time they have met in the post season since then, 12 years later.
It's interesting how things like this can come back around.
