A seemingly harmless jab turned into a classy move.

Ben Stelter's catch phrase still holds a special significance for the Edmonton Oilers and their fans. That's one reason why their was such a strong fan reaction when the Dallas Stars DJ played "La Bamba" after the Stars beat the Oilers in Game two.
Add into the mix that La Bamba was also the favorite song of the late Joey Moss - an Oilers dressing room attendant/Oilers superfan. Even though he has passed on, his presence meant so much to the Oilers that a clip of him singing the National Anthem is shown on the jumbotron whenever "O Canada" is sung at Rogers Place.
The Stars' DJ revealed on Twitter yesterday, that he had no idea of the significance of the song. They have made it a habit to troll other teams and their fan bases by playing harmless songs that poke fun at that team.
"DJ Shippy" apologized for his use of the song, vowed to not play it again, and then made a deal with an Oilers' fan on twitter. They both agreed to make a meaningful donation to a charity or fund that is dear to the other organization.
This resulted in DJ Shippy making a donation to the Ben Stelter Foundation - which provides magical experiences for children with cancer along with providing medical equipment for home treatments, finding better treatments & potential cures as well as investing in projects and entities that are also helping with potential cures and treatments.
This is the best outcome to develop from this unfortunate misunderstanding. The games have been competitive and it's great to see respectable people who are with other organizations doing commendable things like this.
