Jacob Markstrom and Connor Brown are tied in one particular stat.
EDMONTON -- The Battle of Alberta always makes for an entertaining game. Even though the outcome wasn't what the Edmonton Oilers wanted (6-3 loss) their last game against the Calgary Flames was nothing short of memorable.

This past off season the biggest move the Oilers made was signing Connor Brown as a free agent. The deal was seen as a bargain at the time - as the base salary was low and the contract had several bonuses embedded into it.
Fast forward 49 games into his tenure with the team and it's safe to say that his performance has fallen well below expectations. In all fairness, many thought he would light the world on fire by riding shotgun with Connor McDavid all season.
That simply has not been the case for Brown.

In the interest of full transparency, my pre-season prediction was that Brown would score 15 goals and have an additional 32 assists. Even my modest expectations have been undershot. In 49 games this season he has gathered five assists - and is on the lowest point pace of his entire career.
Oddly enough one Flames player has the same amount of points as Brown - Jacob Markstrom.

Maybe people often forget that goaltenders can get assists too, but it's not often that you see a goaltender giving a forward a run for their money points-wise.
