The Edmonton Oilers are attempting to claw their way back into a playoff position. Over the past few years their handling of young defensive prospects has not been fantastic.

Caleb Jones, Ethan Bear and Jordan Oesterle have all left in one form or another and are presently with other organizations.
We can add another name to that list, Dmitri Samorukov.
Today the Pittsburgh Penguins announced that they signed Samorukov through to the end of this to a $775,000 contract.
He first left the team via trade to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for Klim Kostin.
Before signing this NHL contract he had played 15 games with the Penguins AHL affiliate team, scoring five points.
