The Edmonton Oilers make an emergency recall on Sunday night.

Edmonton Oilers look to bounce back from their embarrassing Game 1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks.

The Edmonton Oilers held practice today. It was a very important moment in the season, as it comes off the heels of a lackluster 5-2 loss to the Nashville Predators. A game where they showed little bite or kickback.

There was a notable absence at practice today though - Sam Gagner was not present. The newly signed (and recalled) forward has been a welcomed addition for a team seeking a spark from anyone.

That injury might be serious enough to miss a game as the Oilers have made a sudden roster move today:

James Hamblin has been recalled on an emergency basis. The reason for this move could be explained by this - tweeted by PuckPedia:

This could have nothing to do with Gagner and simply be the next logical step with both Mattias Janmark and Connor Brown questionable for the next game. Either way, there will be another body present for tomorrow night's game against the Vancouver Canucks.
