Evander Kane took to Instagram to reveal how he spent part of his Tuesday.
EDMONTON -- Evander Kane is not one to shy away from controversy.

That's one reason why it's not surprising that the Edmonton Oilers power forward would spend time with someone else controversial.
On Tuesday, Kane posted on Instagram a meeting between him and Alberta Premier, Danielle Smith. While Smith has her supporters, there is also an alarming amount of concern regarding policies she is proposing centered around health care, LGBTQ+ issues, and education.

In his post the caption reads, "It was a pleasure to meet and speak with Premier Danielle Smith." The post features two pictures. The first is of Smith posing wearing an Oilers jersey with Kane's number on it. The second was of the pair speaking, with Kane holding the jersey (presumably before he gave it to her.)
Regardless of these issues, hockey has always been something that unites both sides of the political aisle. Everyone can cheer for the Oilers: Conservative, Liberal, urban, rural and everyone else in-between.
With a few more days left before they need to travel to Florida for their media day prior to the Cup Final commencing, it's good to see the players making appearances.
According to head coach Kris Knoblauch, Kane is still recovering from an injury. He is expected to be ready to go for Saturday's Game one of the Stanley Cup Final against the Florida Panthers.
