

The Edmonton Oilers have a solidified group of seven defensemen. With Darnell Nurse, Mattias Ekholm and Brett Kulak on the left side - to go along with Cody Ceci, Evan Bouchard, Vincent Desharnais and Philip Broberg on the right side they are all set.

It hasn't always been this way. In fact, in recent years the depth on the blueline has been too young and too inexperienced. Ethan Bear and Caleb Jones were both Oilers who were traded away to acquire better (or different) talent.
Today we saw a another former young Oilers blueliner placed on the waiver wire.
Jordan Oesterle was put on waivers today by the Calgary Flames. He was last spotted in an Oilers uniform in the 2016-17 season. Since then he's played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Arizona Coyotes and the Detroit Red Wings.
Jordan Oesterle.In July of 2023 he signed a one-year deal with the Flames. After only skating in four games he will continue his season in the AHL - should he not get claimed.
