The Edmonton Oilers have had to trade away several developing players in the name of improving team depth and experience.
Ethan Bear was one such defender - traded for Warren Foegele. Foegele has become a staple in the Oilers top nine forward group.
Another budding defenseman in Caleb Jones was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Duncan Keith.

In the past few days Jones has been put on waivers for purpose of assignment to the minors. He cleared waivers, but earlier today it was announced that he was traded to the Colorado Avalanche.
Jones will play in the AHL to begin the season.
