Edmonton Oilers player may receive supplemental discipline after a sketchy hit on an opponent last night.
The Edmonton Oilers are on a three game win streak. The last two games since Kris Knoblauch took over haven't been pretty wins - but wins none the less.
Both games involved huge third period performances from the team. Last night the Oilers came back from a 3-1 deficit to beat the Seattle Kraken 4-3 in overtime, on the back of a hat trick from Evander Kane.
Before they mounted their comeback, one Oilers player took a penalty on a dangerous play.
Adam Erne attempts to deliver a hit on Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, but misses his body and elbow's Bellemare's head. Judging from the replay above, it almost looks like Erne was reaching with his elbow, rather than it being incidental contact.
Unlike the Leon Draisaitl penalty from the other night, this one might result in a suspension. Most likely one or two games, is what I would wager.
The Oilers next play on the road on Saturday November 18th against the Tampa Bay Lighting at 2PM Mountain Time.
