An Edmonton Oilers player - of Jewish heritage - has released a statement regarding the Israel & Palestine conflict.

The Hockey News writers voted Connor McDavid most likely to win the Art Ross, Hart, and Maurice Richard Trophies.

NHL hockey players are human beings. Just like the fans of the sport, they have thoughts and ideas. They should have the freedom to express their opinions, concern, and support for issues that are near and dear to their heart.

One Edmonton Oiler forward has shared a statement on his social media regarding the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine. It should be noted that this player is of Jewish heritage.

Zach Hyman's statement obviously does not cover every aspect of this issue - as there has been conflicts between the two states for decades.

Hyman signed with the Oilers as a free agent before the start of the 2021-22 regular season. Since his arrival he has been an advocate for Pride Nights and the use of Pride Tape. Every summer he hosts a celebrity charity golf tournament which raises money for children's hospitals in Edmonton and Toronto.
