The Edmonton Oilers make an official coaching change.
The Edmonton Oilers have let go Jay Woodcroft and Dave Manson. Despite having the best winning percentage of a head coach in Oilers history, that wasn't enough to warrant the team keeping him onboard.
The Oilers have already announced his successor.
Kris Knoblauch will take over as head coach. Paul Coffey will replace Manson as assistant coach.
The organization makes this move on the heels of a 4-1 victory against the Seattle Kraken. They are presently 31st in the overall NHL standings.
