Elliotte Friedman reported on his podcast that the Edmonton Oilers almost made a trade this week.
The Edmonton Oilers 2-9-1 is terrible at best. They have had bad stretches before, but to start a season like this isn't good.
After last night's latest loss - which drops them into a tie for last place with the San Jose Sharks - speculation is swirling around the team.
Elliotte Friedman reported on his 32 Thoughts Podcast that many people in the league believed the Oilers were "on the precipice of a big move" on Wednesday. Several people specifically mentioned to "watch the Oilers in goal" and they weren't talking about Jack Campbell on waivers.
Something to watch: Jacob Markstrom has been listed as "day-to-day" with an injury since Wednesday. The Calgary Flames called up Dustin Wolf as a precaution. Markstrom won't dress for tonight's game. It could be something or it could just be coincidence.
There has been a large amount of chatter surrounding the team over the past week. A big goalie trade can't hurt this team at this point. But if they are going to take a swing - they need to swing big.
