Edmonton Oilers head coach Jay Woodcroft has some harsh words for his players.

The Edmonton Oilers will be harder on themselves than the media and fans are on them.

The Edmonton Oilers lost their third game out of the first four to start the season last night. They fell victim to the hard working Philadelphia Flyers by a score of 4-1.

Eleven shots combined in the first and third periods are hardly enough to come away with one goal, let alone two.

Simply put, just plain old not good enough. Or as Jay Woodcroft put it last night, "certainly not f****** good enough."

"I thought our game lacked urgency today," Woodcroft said in his post game comments. He went on to say, "I didn't see second and third effort. In all areas of the game from up and down our lineup."

The Oilers will need to find a way to bring that effort starting on Saturday, when they play the Winnipeg Jets in front of a home crowd.
