Breaking news coming across social media this morning. After improving to 3-9-1 after last night's 4-1 win against the Seattle Kraken, the Edmonton Oilers are making a change.
Elliotte Friedman is reporting on X (Twitter) that the Oilers are making a coaching change.
Apparently winning last night's game was not enough to guarantee his job security. The win represented a change in the tide for the Oilers. It was the most complete game for the team. Why would they choose to let Jay Woodcroft go after that?
At this moment in time no successor has been named. We wait for an official announcement. My guess is that Glen Gulutzan may replace Woodcroft on an interim basis while they search for a long term replacement.
